The links below will take you to the appropriate sections for Births, Marriages and Deaths transcribed from Parish Registers.
The information transcribed has seen a major update in January 2018 with the sub division of each category and the addition of hundreds more transcriptions, many of them having been verified against the original Parish Registers and/or Bishops Transcripts and/or Notice of Banns and/or Official Certificates.
Latest Update - 17th January 2023
BIRTHS - 777 transcriptions in total of which 17 transcriptions are new, 176 transcriptions have been updated and 700 transcriptions have been verified against original sources.
MARRIAGES - 539 transcriptions in total of which 272 transcriptions are new, 103 transcriptions have been updated and 298 transcriptions have been verified against original sources.
DEATHS - 631 transcriptions in total of which 438 transcriptions are new, 67 transcriptions have been updated and 434 transcriptions have been verified against original sources.
It is my intention to keep these as up to date as possible from records available along with where possible ensuring the accuracy of the records by viewing the original (or filmed) version of the documents.
It should be noted that there are many variations of the surname used in the records which for the same person or family could change with each event and it was only when people were more able to read and write that the surname spellings became more stable. The pronunciation of the name also lead to difficulties with officials (clergymen etc.) spelling the name the way they felt it was spelt.
The records transcribed show the basic details required to enable myself and others of following a particular line without crowding to much information onto the web pages. Most of the transcriptions do have additional information such as the persons (or their father / spouse) occupation, witnesses at birth or marriage etc., details of which I keep on a master database. If you require any further information on a particular person, do not hesitate to ask. Also if any of the transcriptions appear to be incorrect, please keep me informed, along with any additional information you may have.
