Be it known that at the date hereunder written the last Will and Testament of Martha Priestnall of 191 Broad Lane, Buersil, Rochdale in the County of Lancaster, widow, deceased, who died on the 18th March 1899 at 191 Broad Lane, aforesaid and who at the time of her death had a fixed place of abode at 191 Broad Lane, aforesaid within the district of Rochdale in the County of Lancaster, was proved and registered in the District Probate Registry of Her Majesty’s High Court of Justice and that Administration of all the estate which by law devolves to and vests in the personal representative of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid court to John Blomley of 6 Glenn View Terrace, Shipley in the County of York, Schoolmaster, the sole executor named in the said Will
Will
This is the last Will and Testament of me Martha Priestnall of 191 Broad Lane, Buersil, Rochdale in the County of Lancaster, widow.
First I appoint my friend John Blomley of 6 Glenn View Terrace, Shipley in the County of York, Schoolmaster (who is hereinafter called my Trustee) sole Executor and Trustee of this my Will. I give devise and bequeath all my real and personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Trustee upon trust to sell, collect, call in and convert the same into money and to stand possessed of the produce thereof and of my ready and all other of my moneys after payment thereout of my debts, funeral and testamentary expenses upon the trusts following (that is to say)
As to one equal ninth part thereof in trust to pay or otherwise transfer the same unto Laura Alton Glenn the daughter of my late nephew James Henry Hall, deceased, the son of my late brother James Hall.
As to one other equal ninth part thereof in trust to pay or otherwise transfer the same to my nephew Thomas Hall, the son of my late brother James Hall, deceased.
As to one other equal ninth part thereof in trust to pay or otherwise transfer the same to my nephew Ralph Cropper the son of my late sister, Frances Hall, deceased.
As to one other equal ninth part thereof in trust to pay or otherwise transfer the same to my niece Mary Shutt the daughter of my late sister, Frances Hall, deceased.
As to one other equal ninth part thereof in trust to pay or otherwise transfer the same to my niece Mary Hall the daughter of my late brother, Abraham Hall, deceased.
As to one other equal ninth part thereof in trust to pay or otherwise transfer the same to my niece Betty Hall the daughter of my late brother, Abraham Hall, deceased.
As to one other equal ninth part thereof in trust to pay or otherwise transfer the same to my niece, Martha Cropper the daughter of my late sister, Sarah Cropper, deceased.
As to one other equal ninth part thereof in trust to pay or otherwise transfer the same to my niece, Elizabeth Shortbridge the daughter of my late sister, Sarah Cropper, deceased.
As to the remaining one equal ninth part thereof in trust to pay and divide the same equally between and amongst the children living at my decease of my late nephew, John Cropper, deceased, the son of my late sister, Sarah Cropper, deceased.
And lastly I revoke all former Wills and Testamentary dispositions by me at any time herefore made and declare this to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty first day of January one thousand eight hundred and ninety nine.
Signed by the said Martha Priestnall, the Testator, as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us present together at the same time who at her request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses, the same having been first read over and explained to her and she appeared to fully understand the same and made her mark thereto in our presence.
